Because when you set out to take on the heavy loads with turbocharged power, start with an engine that was designed to do just that.

It’s an extra detail that lives deep inside the hydraulic tensioners and plays a significant role in long-lasting durability by reducing high chain loads and stress on the chain drive systems. The lower crankcase extension also plays a big part and is used to support the main bearing caps. This feature is designed to handle the heavy loads that turbocharging offers while adding to the solid foundation.

One way is with spiny lock nodular cast-iron liners. They provide a durable wear surface for the rings, which is critical for long engine life. Sodium-filled exhaust valve stems, as well as high thermal conductivity valve seats and guides, are also used. These help keep exhaust valves running cool under extreme, high-performance situations.
